Canon 7D stuff looks terrific on YouTube 1080p

I think that the current YouTube 1080p streaming quality is unsurpassed. It’s uploading and encoding process is very fast and the results are beautiful.

The following short clip is a take from a two hour interview with my 84 year old mother, by Karien Huijbregts.

Filmed with the Canon 7D, unshaded, unedited, no filters. Converted to h.264 using MPEG Streamclip and uploaded to YouTube.
25fps/1080p, Carl Zeiss 50mm. f/1.4, F2.8 1/50th 200 ASA. “Daylight” from filtered tungsten. Audio recorded w. Tascam DR-07.

While you’re pixel peeping, have a look at Philip Bloom’s Skywalker Ranch video at YouTube HD:

Don’t forget to use the new Youtube HD feature: select 1080 or 720 from the dropdownbox next to the HD button.

Cheers!

Martin

Sehr gute Qualität, Martin. Ich denke auch, dass YouTube z. Z. die beste Streaming-Qualität liefert.

    Hello Siep.

I donwloaded the clip from the camera and used the (freeware) program “MPEG Streamclip” to convert to H.264 codec max 3500kb (same as camera, but lower datarate). I uploaded the resulting .mov file.

    Cheers.

    Martin.
