Hi Martin, what rails setup and connection with riser are you using for the ex1 and woud it adapt well to a ex3?
It looks as though you have the rails going through and being supported , or locked of it two plases, is this correct?

also what type of tripod fitting is on the bottom, I guess it wont take a sony quick release plate, but with a arrow 55 or sachtler 20 I guess the plate would screw onto the bottom of your set up.

    Hello Steven.

What i did, to use the rig both portable and stationary, is buy the shouldermount kit from RedrockMicro, with the longest rods they have (20 inch i think). I did not build the camera and the Encore on top of that, but used the long rods as replacement for – and part of – the whole cameraencore structure.
It will work for the EX3 too, no doubt; i believe i’ve even seen it setup like that on the Redrock webiste.
The raiser is part of the standard Redrock Encore M2 system, that also includes the tripod fitting (which is of the sachtler type).
I use a very simple and low tripod, because i use to shoot from low angles; so i fitted the tripod plate to the base of the Redrock shouldermount. This way it’s easy to take the whole structure from the tripod and use it on-shoulder.

    Cheers,

    Martin
